The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
