The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 When they were sitting near it 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
