The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
