The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
