The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 and so am I: 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
