Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And no trifle. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
