The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
