The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
