The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
