Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By the sky and the night comer - 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
