The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
