Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
