The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
