The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 and is not to be taken lightly. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
