Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And not known my account! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
