Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a high Garden. 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 Him Allah shall torment with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
