Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven – how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
