Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a Garden on high, 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Wherein is a gushing spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets laid out, 14 And cushions ranged 15 And carpets spread around. 16 DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created? 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
