Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they never reflect on the camels and how they were created, 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
