The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sun and its midmorning, 1 And the moon when she followeth him, 2 The day when it reveals his radiance, 3 by the night, when it envelops it! 4 Consider the sky and its wondrous make, 5 by the earth and that (Power) which spread it out 6 and by the soul and by Him Who perfectly proportioned it, 7 Then He showed him what is wrong for him and what is right for him; 8 To a happy state shall indeed attain he who causes this [self] to grow in purity, 9 And he who confines it will surely come to grief. 10 Thamud belied in their exorbitance. 11 when the most wicked of them broke forth, 12 Then the messenger of God said to them, "This is God's she-camel. Let her drink." 13 But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]. 14 And for Him is no fear of its consequences. 15
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
