The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 you strive in various ways. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and have no faith in receiving any reward (from God). 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
