The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Verily, (the ends) ye strive for are diverse. 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 and their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they face destruction. 11 Surely upon Us rests the guidance, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
