Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
