Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 And by the night when it is still (or darkens); 2 Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 And He found you lost and guided [you], 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 And abundantly proclaim the favours of your Lord. 11
