Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 for, indeed, the life to come will be better for thee than this earlier part [of thy life]! 4 And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. 5 Did He not find you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) an orphan and gave you a refuge? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And did He not find you in want, and then enriched you? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
