The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 your Lord has not forsaken you (Prophet Muhammad), nor does He hate you. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 soon you will be gratified with what your Lord will give you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]. 9 And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
