The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Read, and your Lord only is the Most Beneficent, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or enjoins Righteousness? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]. ۩ 19
