We saved the Children of Israel from their humiliating torment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 and showed them signs in which there was a clear test. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them because they were indeed Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.). 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
