The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky and the night comer - 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
