The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Have you seen him who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Nay! if he desist not, We would certainly smite his forehead, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No indeed; do thou not obey him, and bow thyself, and draw nigh. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
