The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read - for thy Sustainer is the Most Bountiful One 3 who taught by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Surely your returning is to your Lord. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will now call the guards! 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
