The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 created Man of a blood-clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Tell me if he (the disbeliever, Abu Jahl) denies (the truth, i.e. this Quran), and turns away? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah beholdeth? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 and then let him summon [to his aid] the counsels of his own [spurious] wisdom, 17 and We too will call the stern and angry keepers of hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
