The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 Whenever there comes unto them any new reminder from their Sustainer, they but listen to it with playful amusement, 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 4 They say: "Nay, these are confused dreams; nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign, even as the Messengers of the past were sent with signs." 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder if ye know not? 7 Nor did We make them bodies that ate no food, nor were they immortal. 8 Our promise to them came true and We saved them and those whom We wanted, but destroyed the unjust people. 9 We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason? 10
