The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 When Shu'aib said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Give just measure, and cause no loss (to others by fraud). 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: thou art but of the bewitched; 185 “You are just a human like us, and indeed we consider you a liar.” 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
