The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen the one who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Tell me, if he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is on the guidance (of Allah)? 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
