Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 until you come to the graves. 2 But you will soon come to know. 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure. 8
