Al-Takaathur

Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 until you come to the graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 Nay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware!) 5 You will be shown hell 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8

God the Almighty always says the truth.
