Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 covered down upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
