Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who amasseth wealth; and counteth it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8 in extended columns. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
