Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 He will soon enter the flaming fire. 3 along with his wife, that carrier of slanderous tales; 4 On her neck shall be a cord of twisted fibre. 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
