The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the breath of morning 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
