The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by those that swim serenely 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
