Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
