A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember! 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 Most certainly then We will question those to whom (the apostles) were sent, and most certainly We will also question the apostles; 6 and thereupon We shall most certainly reveal unto them Our knowledge [of their doings]: for never have We been absent [from them]. 7 The weighing on that Day will be the true weighing: those whose scales are heavy will prosper. 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
