We sent Noah to his people, and he said: "O people worship God; you have no other god but He; for I fear the retribution of the great Day may fall on you." 59 Said the eminent among his people, "Indeed, we see you in clear error." 60 [Noah] said, "O my people, there is not error in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds." 61 I bring to you the messages of my Lord, and give you sincere advice, for I know from God what you do not know. 62 Do you find it so strange that a message should come from your Lord through a man from among yourselves, so that he may warn you and so that you may fear God and be shown mercy?" 63 They accused him of telling lies. So We saved him and his companions in an ark and drowned those who called Our revelations mere lies. They were, no doubt, a blind people. 64
