The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
