Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!" 59 The chieftains of his people said: Lo! we see thee surely in plain error. 60 (Noah) said, "My people, I am not in any error, rather I am a Messenger from the Lord of the Universe, 61 "I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you. And I know from Allah what you know not. 62 Does it seem strange to you that a reminder from your Lord should be sent to a man, from among you, to warn you so that you might receive mercy?" 63 But they called him a liar, so We delivered him and those with him in the ark, and We drowned those who rejected Our communications; surely they were a blind people. 64
