Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 But when We changed hardship to ease, and they rose and prospered, (they forgot Our favours) and said: "Our ancestors had also known suffering and joy." So We caught them unawares. 95 But if the people of these regions had believed and feared God, We would surely have showered on them blessings of the heavens and the earth; but they only denied, and We punished them for their deeds. 96 Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep? 97 or that which could seize them during their busy hours of the day? 98 Can they remain secure against the plan of God? Only they feel secure against the plan of God who are certain of being ruined. 99
