O you who believe, seek courage in fortitude and prayer, for God is with those who are patient and persevere. 153 Do not say that those who are killed in the way of God, are dead, for indeed they are alive, even though you are not aware. 154 And surely We shall try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives and crops; but give glad tidings to the steadfast, 155 Who, when a misfortune befalls them, say: Surely we are Allah's and to Him we shall surely return. 156 are the ones who will have blessings and mercy from their Lord: it is they who are on the right path! 157 ۞ [Hence,] behold, As-Safa and Al-Marwah are among the symbols set up by God; and thus, no wrong does he who, having come to the Temple on pilgrimage or on a pious visit, strides to and fro between these two: for, if one does more good than he is bound to do - behold, God is responsive to gratitude, all-knowing. 158 Lo! Those who hide the proofs and the guidance which We revealed, after We had made it clear to mankind in the Scripture: such are accursed of Allah and accursed of those who have the power to curse. 159 except those who repent, and mend (their deeds) and clarify. Those I shall accept them. I am the Receiver of repentance, the Most Merciful. 160 Those who deny the truth, and die as deniers, on them shall be the curse of God and of angels and of men altogether. 161 They will live condemned forever, will have no relief from the torment, and no attention will be paid to them. 162 Your God is One God. There is no god except He. He is the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 163
