And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 [all] save such of them as are truly Thy servants!" 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
